The story behind Casa Seda

Casa Seda is a nightclub, cocktail bar and omakase set inside a renovated house in Ibiza. The brand concept grew out of a theme we kept finding in our research: Ibiza is full of contradictions. It's a place that holds them easily, and celebrates them.

The name carries across that idea. In Spanish, "seda" means silk, and "que vaya como la seda" means for something to go smoothly. Naturally, silk comes from moths, insects drawn to light even though they belong to the night. They're called "mariposa nocturna", or night butterfly.

The visual identity design expresses these ideas combined. Look at it one way and it's a moth. Look again and it's sound waves moving outward. Whatever you see, it ties back to the same contradiction: two things that shouldn't go together, going together.

The graphic identity is carried across every touchpoint of the club, from menus to signage, napkin holders to coasters. The moth, venn diagram and sound wave all reappear in different forms depending where they land.
